Welcome to Data Streaming Summit 2024 Live Training.

We will focus on three main topics during the training:

• Kafka Protocol Essentials: Experience the ONE StreamNative Platform’s support for the Kafka protocol, including publishing/consuming messages, working with schema registries, and configuring Kafka clients for multi-tenancy and connectors.
• Pulsar Client Fundamentals: Explore Pulsar’s Java Client, focusing on messaging and streaming use cases. Learn about subscription types, topic partitioning, delayed messages, dead letter queues, Table View, and geo-replication.
• StreamNative+AI: Deploy Python Pulsar Functions to transform unstructured data into embeddings with OpenAI API, load them into a vector database, and enable Lakehouse Storage for Databricks integration. Discover how to utilize Foundation Models with Amazon Bedrock APIs.

Before arriving, please complete the prerequisites. This includes:

• Preparing and testing your Java 17 + Maven development environment, including your connection to the StreamNative Cluster.
• Installing pulsarctl.
