Introduction to Streaming Augmented Lakehouse using Snowflake Open Catalog

StreamNative’s Ursa Engine with built-in support for Snowflake Open Catalog enables the Streaming Augmented Lakehouse. The following steps are automated by the Ursa Engine to create the Streaming Augmented Lakehouse, enabling real-time AI applications.

  1. The Ursa Engine writes data directly to object storage, compacting files into Apache Parquetâ„¢ format.
  2. Data is committed to the Iceberg Tables.
  3. Real-time data is accessible through Snowflake Open Catalog, providing a unified, interoperable catalog for governing real-time data streams for AI applications.

This course focuses on following three steps in deploying a StreamNative BYOC (Bring Your Own Cloud) Ursa Cluster with built-in support for Snowflake Open Catalog. Deploying a BYOC Cluster also requires granting vendor access, creating a Cloud Connection, and setting up the Cloud Environment. Details can be found in Part 2: Deploy StreamNative BYOC Ursa Cluster.
